Connecting TikTok
How the TikTok integration works, what Postfor can and cannot do, and how to disconnect at any time.
What the integration does
Connecting TikTok lets you schedule videos from Postfor and have them published to your TikTok account automatically at the time you choose. You can plan TikTok content alongside your other networks on the same calendar instead of posting manually from your phone.
The integration uses TikTok's official Content Posting API. Postfor does not automate views, follows, likes or comments, and does not access content that does not belong to your connected account.
How to connect your account
- In Postfor, open Channels and click Add channel.
- Select TikTok.
- You are redirected to TikTok's own authorisation page. Log in there if you are not already.
- Review the permissions TikTok lists and tap Authorize.
- You return to Postfor and the channel appears in your sidebar, ready to schedule.
Your TikTok password is entered only on TikTok's website. Postfor never receives it.
Permissions we request
Postfor asks for the minimum scopes needed to schedule and publish on your behalf:

Postfor cannot read your private messages, cannot see other people's accounts, and cannot post anything you have not explicitly created and scheduled yourself.
Publishing rules to be aware of
TikTok enforces its own requirements on anything published through the API. Postfor validates as much as possible before scheduling, but it is useful to know the main ones:
- Video format — MP4, MOV or WebM. Vertical 9:16 performs best.
- Duration — between 3 seconds and 10 minutes depending on your account.
- Caption — up to 2,200 characters including hashtags.
- Privacy setting — choose public, friends or private per post before scheduling.
- Commercial content — if the video is an ad or branded content, enable the disclosure toggle so TikTok labels it correctly.
If TikTok rejects a post, the reason it returned is shown on the post in your calendar so you can fix and reschedule it.
Troubleshooting
The channel shows as expired
TikTok access tokens expire periodically. Postfor refreshes them automatically, but if you changed your TikTok password or revoked access, reconnection is required. Open Channels, click the TikTok channel and choose Reconnect.
My video failed to publish
The most common causes are an unsupported file format, a video longer than your account allows, or an expired token. Open the failed post to see the exact error returned by TikTok.
Disconnecting and revoking access
You can remove Postfor's access at any time, from either side:
- From Postfor — open Channels, select the TikTok channel, and click Disconnect. We delete the stored access and refresh tokens immediately.
- From TikTok — in the TikTok app go to Profile → Menu → Settings and privacy → Security & permissions → Manage app permissions, then remove Postfor.
Revoking access stops all future scheduled publishing to that account. Videos already published stay on TikTok and are unaffected — they belong to you.
